Be sure to check out all of our pet guides, including the best cat toys and supplies, the best dog accessories and supplies, and supplies and tips for new pet owners.

Pet Tech Deals

WIRED Gear editor Adrienne So loved the original version of the Fi collar. The Series 2 is similar in many ways. It’s lightweight, has a light for nighttime walks, and has GPS and sleep tracking capabilities. (The former uses a combination of your phone’s cellular network or your home’s Wi-Fi.) You’ll want to subscribe to Fi’s service to track your pet’s location wherever they are (Cost: $99 per years, less with a longer contract), but it is not necessary.

We recommend some good veterinary telemedicine services, including AirVet, which can connect you 24 hours a day with your existing vet or anyone else available during emergencies. It’s gone up in price to $30 a month (there was a $20 option when we first tried it), but you can cancel anytime. (AirVet, like Pawp, now also offers a $3,000 emergency fund, which was unavailable when we tried it.) This sale offers a discount on your first month. The sale ends on April 14.

WIRED reviewer Jaina Gray used her Litter-Robot 3 Connect (8/10, WIRED recommended), and all bundles are currently $50 off. Self-cleaning boxes rarely go on sale, so now is a good time to buy. There’s the Essentials Bundle ($668), which includes a ramp, fence (to keep trash in), 25 drawer liners, and three carbon filters. The Clean Bundle ($723) includes all of the above plus cleaner wipes from Litter-Robots. You can also get a litter box and an automatic pet food bowl for $798, or two Litter-Robots for $1,098.

Cat furniture deals

My cats have been using Mau’s Cento tree for a few weeks now and they love it – as do I. It was easy to put together myself and the pieces are well made – enough to hopefully outlast claws and heavy bellies. It also just looks really nice in my apartment. You can use the same NPD20 code to get $20 off any purchase of $200 or more.

I haven’t tried this one, but I’ve seen it on social media and it has solid reviews on the web. It looks cute and at $25 it’s not a bad price to give it a try. If you – or your cats – don’t like it personally, you can return it within 30 days.

This is a good option if you have a small cat. I bought it a few months ago when I saw it at my local Home Goods, but I ended up returning it when I realized my cat Huxley was way too big for it. However, it was easy to assemble and it doesn’t take up too much space in a room.

Pet Bed Deals

You and your furry friend can have matching comfy mattresses. WIRED editor Julian Chokkattu says his dog Tobu loves this purple bed. It’s made with two layers of foam and Purple’s waffle pattern, so it’s soft yet sturdy. It holds up well despite more than four years of regular use. The cover is also easy to clean – just throw it in the washing machine. Small, medium and large sizes are available, so there are options for a cat or Great Dane to lounge.

We haven’t tested this yet and the price is high, but your old dog could benefit (there are a few different options and sizes). The University of Pennsylvania conducted a clinical study with this bed and found that dog owners reported real improvements in their dogs’ mobility. You can read all the findings in this downloadable PDF. Plus, it’s made in the USA.

Boots and Barkley

PetCo has discounted some of its pet supplies, including cute clothes, carriers and cages, and toys for dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, horses, and small animals like hamsters and ferrets.

If you can run to your nearest Target for a pickup, or hop in for same-day delivery, the Boot and Barkley brand hosts a similar sale on a ton of toys, bowls, and other accessories for dogs and cats. I have already bought a few cat items from this brand and am always impressed with the quality. My cat Eely-Rue was especially obsessed with this Wave Scratcher.

Chewy is having a sale where you can grab two items and the third one is free. That includes deals on toys, leashes, collars and more.
