GamesBeat Summit 2022 returns with its biggest event for gaming leaders on April 26-28. Reserve your spot here!
Peripheral maker 8BitDo is expanding its offerings with its first Xbox-style gamepad. Starting today, you can pre-order the 8Bitdo Ultimate Wired Controller for Xbox for $45. Shipping will begin on May 31.
That Xbox styling means 8BitDo is embracing offset analog sticks for the first time. The company previously relied on symmetrical stick placement such as a PlayStation DualSense or Nintendo Pro Controller. In addition to the sticks and cord, the new gamepad also includes the following features:
3.5mm audio jack Interchangeable buttons with 8BitDo’s Ultimate Software on Xbox, Windows, Android or iOS2 back paddle buttonsTrigger vibrations
The company also promises to have paid extra attention to the ergonomics and grip of the wired controller. It also used the Xbox Series X/S design as a base, meaning it has a dedicated share button.
I usually love controllers from 8BitDo. They are especially great for D-pads. This is also the company that designed the excellent Analogue Pocket. So if you want to add more controllers to your collection, this is a possible option.
