Employees and location are great. Customer Service was very nice. The rooms were dated and the strong chemical smell was awful. Almost a pesticide spray odor, bed bugs??? Resteraunt menu limited, food was okay but hard to mess up a garden salad. Could be a good place but would recommend any place else but the old super 8, heard it was the same owner and wouldn't doubt it.

I come to Stika often with my family and have stayed at this hotel a handful of time, it was my preferred. I have also traveled for many years and stayed at even more hotels - long story short this hotel has been my first and only experience with bed bugs, specifically on level 5 AND 2. I immediately let the front desk know and the sweet girl that was presumably the overnight staff apologized and said the next day staff would deal with it - that woman was less then kind about the situation and we have still not been contacted by the β€œmanager” regarding a refund. I urge you to stay at the neighboring Aspen or really anywhere else. Also when you see previous reviews regarding bedbugs, listen and do your research.

Do not plan on getting a good night sleep the people that stay there get up at 2 am in June to go fishing and the old floors are very noisy. This entire town is very expensive plan to spend 3x on food any place you plan to eat. If there is a quiet hotel in town I would recommend that one.

This is in a great location in downtown Sitka. Ask for an upper floor water view room - fantastic! There are restaurants and shopping all around and you can walk almost anywhere from here. Room was comfortable but not luxurious.

The only good thing I could say about this place is the bed was very comfortable. Wifi- Didn't work, I asked front desk for help and the response I received was "I am not IT sorry" TV- Didn't work, I asked front desk for help and response I received was "I don't know sorry" Linens- Our wash clothes had stains all over them Shower- No soap in the dispenser or Bars for Showering Potentially the worse part in one of my trips to the front desk to ask for help with Wifi, the evening front desk person was handing a customer complaining about a clogged drain a plunger to go clear it themselves. Again, their response was " I am not Maintenace, I cannot help" and they directed them to just leave the plunger outside their door, and they would retrieve it the next day.... This is a $300 a night hotel.... Some service, help, and comfort should come with the stay...

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this hotel β€” specifically with the manager, Nick Lavender β€” was upsetting and unacceptable. I left two very expensive items in my room after checkout: a pair of AirPods and a white noise machine. When I realized this, I called the hotel the next day hoping to retrieve them. Instead of showing any concern or willingness to help, Nick was immediately dismissive and defensive. I asked if he could investigate with his housekeeping staff, and he outright refused, saying he β€œtrusts his staff” and doesn’t know me, so I must be lying. I explained that I had only been at the hotel and my brother’s house β€” there was no other possible location where the items could have gone missing β€” but he insisted he didn’t believe me and made no effort to even pretend to look into it in an investigative manner. When I asked for the owner’s contact information to escalate the issue, he refused again and said he wouldn’t allow me to β€œbug him.” The complete lack of empathy, accountability, or basic customer service was honestly shocking. I understand that things get left behind sometimes, but the unwillingness to investigate or even acknowledge the possibility of wrongdoing by staff is deeply troubling. I feel violated and disrespected. If you value your belongings and want to be treated with decency, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Very basic room. Bed is comfortable very and soft. The bath amenities like lotion and soaps could use an upgrade. Pillows could use an upgrade as well. Location is excellent and the staff is always very nice.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced directly from the hotel manager Nick Lavender (if that’s even his name). We left my AirPods and White Noise Machine (yes I know it’s on me for leaving them) but when I called the next day and …

OK stay, room was reasonable size, unfortunately we got a room with 2 beds and they are tight fits against walls, not easy for a couple!|Like everywhere in Sitka you start hearing road noise and people from 4am onwards.|Location is good.
