I had a wonderful stay in this room. It was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and all amenities worked perfectly. Housekeeping was consistent, and the view from the window was a pleasant surprise. Definitely a great value for money, and I would highly recommend it.

The people who operate this motel are very nice and try to be accommodating. Unfortunately, maintenance is grossly lacking and a motel that has the ability to be inviting and highly welcoming is, instead, third rate. It is clean, the beds are comfortable, but is aging and significantly lacking in pride by the owners, Examples: A lamp not plugged in because there is no outlet and it doesn't have a bulb; holes in the wall where a mirror was moved and they didn't bother to use ten cents worth of spackle to fill them; a breakfast room with coffee but no sweetener one day and no milk or cream the next, a broken juice machine and nothing hot except coffee; beds made with a thin bedspread but with no blankets; two small pillows per bed; a mini coffee maker in the rooms with sparse supplies; broken thermostats in common areas. They let it become old and rundown rather than conducting obvious necessary maintenance. The good things are that it is close to downtown, there is a Safeway close by, parking is free and ample, and as far as I know, only The Landing is a good alternative.. I just can’t say enough positive things about the management at Ketchikan Super 8. Raj the manager was very accommodating. He made sure I had my needs met, was super polite and friendly. It’s a huge job during the height of the summer season. You have a great manager in Raj!

The last time I stayed here was not a very good review this time. I am very pleased. Everything was great. The room smells great. The room was very clean. We did have to ask for an extra towel because there was two of us staying here, but the atmosphere was great. I was very pleased with this visit, and would come again.

Amazing, budget friendly hotel by the sea. Strategically located. 1minute walk to McDonalds, Safeway, AT&T & Bus stop. Morning view is amazing from windows. Was lucky to see whales by my window. Manager / Owner Raj is very kind & helpful. Stayed for 3 nights & booked twice.

Stayed here overnight for almost $300 because I had to catch the next flight out to Wrangell in the AM. Only thing that barely saved the experience was the front desk service and the view I had from my very frosted aged glass window -I tell myself it gave it an ambience-. I mainly blame myself for not planning better as its my first time solo traveling out here but will not be booking a musty room, with no AC and stained walls, if I ever visit Ketchikan again. I do not mean to be so harsh but for the price I payed and to be told it was because it was "tourist season" and the lack of amenities available, thumbs down. It gave more of a motel than a hotel in my opinion. Thats what I get for choosing convinice (because of proximity to the airport) over comfort.

AVOID! Do not stay here if you have a choice! My company put me up here. It is lower than shabby and run down. It feels more like some kind of half way house. The locals call it the Shady 8. The smells are certainly diverse in a bad way. It kind of looks like someone may have bled out on the bed. The sheets and pillowcases were clean and fresh thank god. I could not detect any bed bugs but the film of dust and stuff was pretty gross. The best thing about this tower of filth is leaving and going to a bar to forget about it. 🤮

The place is terrible! Smells of smoke and wet dog, the elevator was something out of a horror movie. The room had so many things broken, the dresser, chair, bed, tv, window all broken. The clerk Brian could not be less helpful, the first room he gave me had a drunk homeless person sleeping on the floor. And you get all this lovely stuff for $160

This is an old, run down hotel. Room smelled strong of disinfectant yet had a dirty base odor. Security chain was broken. Beeakfast wasn’t. Some bread and eggos. Help was rarely at the desk. The bed was OLD and dilapidated. The temp control ont the thermostat didn’t work. The refrigerator was incredibly noisy.
