Avatar Dimension unveils a mobile version of his recording studio

GamesBeat Summit 2022 returns with its biggest event for gaming leaders on April 26-28. Reserve your spot here!
Avatar Dimension has announced that it is launching a mobile, movable version of its volumetric Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture Studio. It can now be moved and built in other locations.
The studio is primarily for creating 3D holographic images. The portable version has 70 12-megapixel Volucam cameras and Microsoft’s recording and rendering pipeline. Images are captured to scale and the video files are merged to create 3D images that can be used in games and other technology.
The portable studio takes three days to assemble and is available to customers “from enterprises to military and government agencies, museums, sports, fashion, entertainment and more.” The company opened its primary physical studio in Washington DC in 2011. According to Avatar Dimension, the studio is one of the few in the world.
Dennis Bracy, CEO of Avatar Dimension, said in a statement: “Over the past year, we have seen a steady growth in interest in movies, music, fashion, video games, all kinds of training and more for creating unique, immersive content with truly lifelike 3D holograms.By bringing our volumetric capture stage directly, quickly and seamlessly to customers, it really opens the door for the many companies interested in expanding their audience reach with innovative, mixed reality experiences, but needing the recording session have to come to them.”
