The Assistant Academic Designer, Production is a detail-oriented individual who will work with the Lead Academic Designer to coordinate and manage multiple schedules that track different components while also assisting with tasks such as proofreading, editing and the downloading of components for review. This role is critical to ensuring our 6-8 Science products are built on time and with the highest of quality. ** This is a project status position. This can be a remote position but could also be located in Columbus, OH once our office re-opens.** Your contribution to the team includes:Collaborating with internal team members and outside vendors to ensure on-time delivery, while driving communication between all involved work teams.Creating and managing planning documents and other project artifacts, including schedules for composition, digital delivery, reprints, translations, and assessment.Identifying and managing risks and issues with vendors and working teams, escalating issues as needed.Proofreading and editing manuscript to ensure accuracy, continuity, readability, and grade-appropriateness in accordance with project specifications.Working on digital products with tasks such as metadata tagging, concept mapping, and digital editing.Editing, tracking, and reviewing manuscript and digital products through the development cycle. Following approved workflows at all stages and meeting all project schedules.Collaborating with fellow team members about project progress and developing solutions to address issues. What you’ll need to be successful:A Bachelor’s degree in English or a Science degree (preferred). Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, which include a thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing, and grammar and a strong attention to detail.The successful candidate must be able to be productive, exercise efficient work habits and have the ability to prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility.The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment.The successful candidate must be organized and be able to manage their time effectively.Experience with Microsoft Office tools and online tools such as Smartsheet and SharePoint are preferred.
