Job Description : | Communication and Graphic Design SpecialistPosition Summary: The Communication and Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for the oversight of external communications for the organization, graphic design, assisting with fundraising events and campaigns and assisting with in-person outreach to the community. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer and is a part of the Development Team.Principal Responsibilities: Social MediaCreates a fresh, on-message posting schedule on all social media sites, including static imagery and video content.Creates Social Media events for all upcoming events.Monitoring and answering all messages that come through social media in a timely manner.Interact as HETRA on our social media posts to create interactive comments with followersMonitor social media mentions and followersCreate & maintain a social media calendarWebsite ManagementUpdate website weekly, ensuring all content is relevant and current includingStaff biosHorse biosUpcoming events on the website calendarAll Events (Fundraising & Programming)WebinarsPodcastsEnsure the home page is relevant to upcoming eventsGraphic DesignCompletes marketing and PR requests as determined by the need of the organization including but not limited to:FlyersDonation appealsEvent materialsMass Emails (1-2 per month)Creates brand awareness as well as consistency within marketing and communication pieces. Ensuring all materials use proper fonts, colors logos & language.Be the lead staff that coordinates an annual photoshootEnsure the organization is stocked with all necessary printed materials including flyers, brochures, thank you notes, etc.Design merchandise (primarily t-shirts/sweatshirts) for a bi-annual online store.VideoAssist with the creation, rendering, and branding of the following:Not Just a Pony Ride PodcastWebinarsPeriodic Volunteer & Family testimonials to include on website & social mediaBe the lead staff for the Blue Jeans & Dreams video committee including being able to take B roll video and turn it into short snippets for social media, etcOther duties include but not limited to:CommunicationCompletes all media and press releases on events and activities under the guidance of the Development Director.Participates in process of determining the need for and best use of paid use of press releases and marketing as well as regular outreach to media outletsServe as an ambassador for HETRA, along with the rest of the development team, at local networking events. Attends 1-2 networking events per month as the HETRA representative with the goal of building awareness and relationships with other businesses and groups in the area.Staffs community booths 1-2 times per month as well as coordinates all booth requests and activities.Assists programming team with active PR/Marketing for both volunteers and participants including researching and implementing new marketing strategiesFundraisingAssist the rest of the development team in achieving budgeted goals in all fundraising efforts to include outreach to past and potential sponsors or donors in person or by phone including but not limited to:Drive to RideBlue Jeans & DreamsHorse of the YearKarat ClubAnnual AppealAssist with management of all auctions completed by the organization including recruitment of auction items, entering into auction software and marketing of auction.Knowledge/Skill Requirements: Comfortable with the management of all social media platformsSkilled written and verbal communicationAbility to work within a team as well as take a leadership roleExcellent customer relationship skillsComfortable with outreach to past and potential sponsors and donors as determined by the Development ManagerExcellent IT skills and computer literacyMust be comfortable working within the Adobe Suite platformAdditional programs utilizedVertical Response (Mass Emails)Classy (Fundraising Campaigns)Firespring (Website)Salesforce (Donor Management)Benefits: Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, Retirement Plan, flex time, and occasional work from home options available after the first 6 months of employment.To apply: This is a Full Time, 40 Hour per week position, Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend work required.
