Job Opening for Communications Manager – Marketing & Digital in U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (1129 20th St NW Ste 600, Washington, DC 20036)

The marketing and digital communications manager is responsible for the design and maintenance of all USGLC brand identity, content (across digital, print, social, etc), event marketing, and external products (reports, fact sheets, etc). The ideal candidate will have growing and proven experience in the graphic design, social media and digital communications arenas – particularly developing and executing comprehensive organic and paid content strategies across all channels: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. This role will also be responsible for measuring all organic and paid social media efforts.

The position reports to the Communications Director and is based in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

Brand Identity. Build and maintain USGLC style guide, logo lockup and other branding assets and ensure they are implemented across all USGLC products and by any partners using USGLC brand assets. Serve as Team Lead for all branding components and design across all USGLC platforms and events.
Content Design and Development. Design and maintain all USGLC content and creative, including graphics and digital content to reports, PDFs, one-pagers, banners, invitations, the website, and other external products. Own quality control and alignment of all design elements to ensure a polished and streamlined look and feel across all USGLC products. This role will also be responsible for building and maintaining an image and video database of approved/licensed content.
Organic Social. Maximize USGLC’s voice and perspective across social media, including owning all social media channel content, developing engaging content with clear connections to USGLC messaging and priorities, and telling the story creatively.
Paid Social. Develop and execute paid social strategies across all social media and digital advertising platforms in coordination with the communications director. Proactively work across the communications team and USGLC organization to optimize paid campaigns on an ongoing basis.
Event Marketing. Support USGLC’s robust events and programs agenda through new and creative digital engagement efforts, including email design, social media, and amplification strategies.
Metrics and Outcomes. Own and maintain all metrics across social media and digital platforms; evaluate content, performance, and engagement; and recommend changes or adjustments to optimize success metrics with the goal of growing USGLC audience following and engagement on a quarterly basis.
Best practices and Innovation. Responsible for constant discovery and consideration of best practices and innovation across content development, UX, paid strategies, and web optimizations to elevate USGLC digital platforms on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

Proven and growing track record as a graphic designer for social, print, and email platforms. Experience with Adobe Creative, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Demonstrated ability to successfully develop audience engagement strategies and implement via multiple social media platforms for increased audience reach and activation.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communications skills for a variety of audiences.
Strong organization skills and project management experience, with a proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
Dynamic collaboration skills; experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, international relations, political science or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of international development, foreign affairs, and Capitol Hill are preferred.
Experience with HTML/CSS for web and email development is preferred.
