| Job Description : | JOB SUMMARY The Graphic Designer is a contract position supporting the Operations Department, Organizational Marketing and Communications projects to demonstrate and represent our brands in both Digital and Print form. Skilled in graphic design and digital design, the Graphic Designer will translate ideas into concepts that engage and inspire multiple audiences through multiple mediums. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Conceptualize for design, edit, and produce marketing and outreach materials. Create graphic presentations that communicate insight and brand identity, use imagery and innovative design to guide audiences about our brand. Pitch ideas and develop creative and innovative design solutions for marketing and outreach materials. MUST have the passion and talent to create visually stunning banners, posters, interior and exterior signage, advertising, brochures, window signage, and marketing materials for use in our stores. Work with internal teams to understand goals for projects and existing materials; create multiple, connected assets reflecting the Center’s process and educational goals and objectives. Establish assigned production schedules with key stakeholders, through the Center’s creative productivity tools and keep project production and program launch on schedule. Help shape and refine aesthetic of materials to create a comprehensive look and feel to communicate educational and learning objectives Deliver design solutions to enhance website engagement QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital and visual arts or related field Superior design ability demonstrated through a minimum of 5 years of formal graphic design experience Proficient on a PC or Mac computer and have high level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel A portfolio/website that supports the above qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong background in photography Experience with all social media platforms COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Excellent project management, including proactive and independent development of work plans, timelines, and budgets. Ability to present design concepts to colleagues and to successfully articulate a clear creative vision Evolves with print and video trends to keep graphic content engaging and relevant; provide recommendations on trending topics, products and best practices Strong organization skills and highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects with efficiency and minimal supervision Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, initiative, and a commitment to the Company’s mission WORK REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT Work from home Hours as needed, as long as deadlines are met Must have Adobe Creative Suite COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This is a contract position with a rate of $30 – 40/hour; commensurate with background and experience. As a contract position, it is not benefits eligible and does not include paid time off.
