JobSummary: The Graphic Designer is a temporary role for up to 6 months. The Designer will work in conjunction with our Marketing and Publicity team to conceptualize and design digital and print promotional materials across Sterling Publishing’s/ Union Square & Co.’s adult and children’s imprints.

The role will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including catalogs, sell sheets, consumer and trade ads, animated gifs, social media assets, brochures, activity kits, teacher guides, postcards, bookmarks, shelf talkers, display headers and mock-ups, posters, and promotional items.
WhatYouDo:

Designing marketing and sales collateral projects from concept to execution
Creating, with assistance, seasonal catalogs, including template design, as well as updating and maintaining existing master pages and style sheets
Communicating material needs with key personnel and departmentsWorking closely with the Marketing and Publicity team to refine designs and copy, incorporate feedback, and route work to internal departmentsCollaborating with book design team on assets and design feedbackDeveloping creative design solutions for challenging projects
Preparing and releasing artwork files to print & productionPrioritizing multiple projects to meet time sensitive deadlines
Knowledge&Experience:

This position will primarily be remote, but must have the ability to work in our Union Square/New York City headquarters if neededUndergraduate degree in Design or equivalent work experience required5+ years of experience designing Ad/promo materials required, preferably in publishingExcellent communication skillsHighly proficient in Adobe Creative SuiteKnowledge of Microsoft Office suiteAbility to create conceptual ideas with innovative designsKeen attention to detail
Strong knowledge of typography, composition, and layoutAbility to organize, prioritize, multi-task and coordinate workloadAbility to work conceptually, under pressure and meet deadlinesPlease submit an online portfolio to be considered for this position
