Job Description : | REMOTE SCHEDULE AVAILABLEAssociation Headquarters is in search of a Director of Content and Creative to lead the editorial and graphic design department. The Director of Content and Creative is responsible for all aspects of leading and managing the Marcom content and creative functional areas. This position reports to the VP of Marketing and Communication. The Director of Content and Creative leads creative and content staff and serves as a peer contributor to the Director of Digital Marketing and Director of Marcom Services while providing general oversight for the functional area across the Marcom department. The Director provides content strategy recommendations for AH clients and collaborates with directors, managers, and A.E.’s in order to help shape clients’ content execution across platforms. They also review data about their audience so that they can ensure the subject matter they’re providing is relevant to their audience. The Director provides leadership for the creative department, ensuring creative projects adhere to project management principles, meet quality standards, and are executed with excellence.You should have a strong opinion about serial commas, understand valuable content generation is platform agnostic and be a voracious consumer of media and content. However, we need more than a grammar ninja. We need a content master who can attract and engage audiences with an expert content strategy that further helps organizations tell their stories in new and compelling ways while aligning with their brands. You’ll need to consistently find new and captivating ways to tell a story, execute that story creatively and breathe new life into a variety of communications. You must be passionate about content generation and execution using the written word, graphic design, or a combination of both.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESContent & Creative Strategy & ImplementationBe a role model for company valuesProvide leadership and proactive development for Content and Creative staffWork with Marcom team members and clients to proactively identify and communicate cutting edge trends related to exceptional professional experiences for both AH staff and client partnersSupport senior Marcom staff on assigned clients and/or projectsServe as Content & Creative lead for assigned clients and projects:Monitor formulate and present relevant trends and data (to include financial and audience data) to assigned clients in order to support the decision-making process.Work with the team to coordinate client calls, create project schedules, schedule meetings and presentations, and manage ongoing relationships.Write client-facing emails, take comprehensive notes, and following-up on all meetings with succinct next steps and related documentation.Keep assigned clients and projects on time and on budget.Compile and analyze data to provide insight on key performance indicators and interpret for future marketing activities.Make or assist with presentations to committees/Boards of Directors as appropriate.Develop and execute Content and Creative plans that support overall marketing and project plans for assigned clients and their individual functional areas (e.g., Annual Conference, Membership, Education, Certification) based on the scope of work which may include:Compile and publish a weekly informational email to membership.Develop content in line with established strategy, ensuring content can be used efficiently across execution platforms (web, publication, social, email, etc…}Provide content on the website and members-only forum.Work with the Director of Marcom Services and Director of Digital Marketing to coordinate content and creative components of all client projects.Lead creative function – ensure the department has adequate resources to execute creative projects and provide development and oversight for the creative manager and creative production lead.Oversee assigned publication and editorial processesPlan and manage the production of print and digital publicationsDevelop and update content strategy for client partners to align with their organizational initiativesManage and oversee the in-house creation of content that is timely and relevant across all platformsManage vendor relationships to ensure quality deliverables (e.g., graphic design, etc.)Establish editorial calendars for selected publications and client projectsExecute print and digital content marketing initiatives including content planning, story ideation, and editorial developmentTrack and report on effectiveness and readership metricsCollaborate with graphic designers to create print and digital publicationsNew Business ResponsibilitiesServe as a member of the New Business Development teamContribute appropriate content & creative recommendations related to Marcom services for new business proposals and presentationsReview project scope and contract documents providing specific feedback regarding appropriate I accurate content & creative componentsBrainstorm new and creative content & creative strategies in alignment with general Marcom products and servicesWork with internal clients to encourage the use of Marcom services – promoting Marcom value proposition internally to maximize utilization of Marcom services. * Present to clients (staff or volunteer leaders) and prospective clients to drive new businessAttend and present at industry events and conferences as neededAH Corporate Marketing (limited/ periodic consulting as needed)Provide guidance on content & creative strategies to support the AH brand and corporate marketing plan, including content strategy development, content marketing, creative strategy, and implementationMEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS:% of renewed proposals from the Content and Creative department’s existing portfolio of AH client partners and projects% of revenue growth from the Director’s existing portfolio of AH client partners and projects% of revenue growth within Marcom and client partners# of new projects introduced to MarCom’s portfolio of client partnersOn-time and within budget execution of project deliverablesOverall client partner satisfactionOutstanding metrics based on client partner Marcom plan execution# of NBD proposals developedEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED PROFICIENCIESBachelor’s degree plus a minimum of ten years related experience (writing, editing and leadership preferred).APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSTo be considered for this position, an online application must be submitted, along with an updated resume.
