Job Description : The Graphic Design Specialist coordinates and works in partnership with various personnel to define, create, and maintain visual communication for the organization.We are looking for a graphic designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media. What is the role of a graphic designer? The graphic designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of our websites, product packaging, exhibits and more. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you. The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience.ResponsibilitiesDesign promotional information (flyers, brochures, etc.) for distribution within the communityEnsure the museum website is current and up to date on all events and informationUnder direction of Executive Director and Exhibits Director, design exhibit signage as neededOversee the production and printing of signage at offsite vendors on occasionIn coordination with Development Coordinator and Social Media Specialist, use multiple social media platforms to market upcoming events and activities to museum members and the communityMaintain deadlines for all design projects and distribute needed files in a timely mannerMaintain the organization of all digital files of graphic design work on museum’s internal serverSkillsProven graphic designing experienceA strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphicsA keen eye for aesthetics and detailsExcellent communication skillsAbility to work methodically and meet deadlinesDegree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plusGeneral: · Assist in all aspects of opening/closing procedures of the museum, including operating the admission desk, phone, and other office duties as assigned· Stay informed of all museum policy and procedures, including attendance of all staff meetings and trainings· Assist all museum staff with other projects as neededJob Type: Part-timePay: From $13.00 per hourBenefits:Employee discountSchedule:Day shiftHolidaysMonday to FridayNight shiftWeekend availabilityEducation:Associate (Preferred)Experience:Graphic design: 1 year (Required)Adobe Creative Suite: 1 year (Preferred)Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
