Job Description :	POSITION SUMMARYThis role is a 6-month graphic designer contract opportunity beginning on January 17, 2022, or as soon as the position is filled. The contract will be for 40 hours/week in the Marketing and Communications Department at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The duties include executing a variety of graphic design projects from start to finish for various departments at the Center. These projects may include print ads, posters, invitations, website pages, email, other printed marketing materials, and signage. The contractor will report to the Director, Creative Services.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreating effective graphic designs for a variety of applications including but not limited to: print and online advertising, printed materials, posters and signage, website assets, and email communications.Managing the individual aspects of each design project, including obtaining the necessary approvals and making changes and additions as required in a deadline-driven environmentWorking closely with the Director, Creative Services, and other departmental and corporate management to develop concepts for design projectsManaging time effectively to finish projects on deadline – Other duties may also be assignedESSENTIAL SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTESBachelor’s degree with course work in graphic designProfessional experience in graphic designThorough working knowledge of Macintosh computers, including trouble-shootingHigh-level proficiency and experience working in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and AcrobatModerate level proficiency and experience with HTMLKnowledge of Wordfly and Flash/Animate a plusExcellent proof-reading skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to receive and understand directionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSFrequently perform desk-based computer tasks, use telephoneRoutine walking/standingOccasionally lift/carry objects weighing up to 10 poundsThis job’s specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. – Consistent with its obligations under the law, Segerstrom Center for the Arts will provide reasonable accommodation to any employee with a disability who requires accommodation to perform essential functions of his or her job.WORK ENVIRONMENTOccasional work on weekendsOccasional exposure to outside weather conditionsThe noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSAll Segerstrom Center employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to certain medical, disability, and religious exemptions.Segerstrom Center for the Arts is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).
