AHC Hospitality, the leading hospitality management company in Grand Rapids, Michigan is looking for a talented graphic designer to execute internal and external design solutions for our growing collection of hotels and restaurants. Areas of responsibility include: ad development, brand development, graphic design layout, design ideation, and executing design solutions for both print and digital media. This position works closely with the marketing team to maintain brand compliance throughout the creative process.
Daily responsibilities include working collaboratively with the Art Director and Account Services team to create and implement effective design solutions in both print and digital mediums, presenting design ideas for small to large scale projects, work through creative functionality, and executing both campaign designs and singular brand solutions.
The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who is insightful, detail-oriented, and adaptive. All work is executed at a high level, well thought-out, and has supporting rationale. He or she is a strong listener who embraces constructive feedback. Along with excellent design skills, the ability to work with agility within the constraints of timelines, budgets, and multiple brand voices in a fast-paced environment is essential. An understanding of production mechanics (both print and digital) is required.
Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to multitask when working on several projects at once, ability to work well with others under pressure, and have flexible hours to fulfill assigned project is required.
College graduate with a BA or BFA in Graphic Design or Graphic Communications. Must have a minimum of 2-years design experience working within a corporation or creative agency. Candidate must be a positive, self-motivated, independent creative thinker who is goal-driven, team motivated, and has experience seeing projects through from concept to production. A portfolio of work must be presented at time of interview.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSProficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Graphic Design — InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
