Job Description : This role:
Coachella Valley Firebirds, the 32nd AHL team debuting in October 2022, has an opening for a Graphic Designer. This position will take a lead role in crafting innovative and compelling design solutions across a number of mediums to support all facets of the organization. They will conceive, design, and develop high-quality creative that pushes the Coachella Valley Firebirds brand forward. You are a proactive, organized individual with a solid understanding of how imagery and content should be packaged within brand standards to drive sales, marketing, communication and fan engagement. You will take a pro-active role in establishing process & procedure related to your position to create a scalable system for creative design with the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support VP of Marketing & Communications in trend research, developing concepts and implementing designs to provide creative solutions that meets business objectives.
Lead designer and creative strategist for the organization, working with all departments to create and execute all graphic and visual design needs.
Collaborate with department stakeholders to ensure copy and visuals are working harmoniously together for a clear and consistent brand experience and driving campaign goals.
Create assets for omnichannel marketing, sales & community campaigns, including digital, display, email, social, print, mobile and OOH.
Develop brand theme annually for cross-channel messaging and production including promotional items, specialty jerseys, sponsorship & partner integration, giveaways, season ticket member packages, etc.
Create and manage a calendar of design projects and requests from internal stakeholders and deliver exceptional customer service cross functionally.
Manage printer and vendor relationships as needed.
Clearly communicate and present ideas and brand messages through visuals.
Communicate with key stakeholders across departments to help meet business goals and ensure designs implemented align with company’s initiatives
Understand the brand, voice, and audience to produce visuals that inspire our constituents and tell the brand story
Ensure brand use and consistent across all creative.

The Graphic Designer must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that you can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:
Bachelor’s degree ideally in graphic design, marketing or related field.
3+ Years’ Experience working in the field of graphic design.
Agency, sports or entertainment experience with a proven track record of balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrates consistent growth & increased leadership responsibilities across career.
Proven experience creating best-in-class design.
Experience in creative ideation through full execution across a broad range of media.
Highly collaborative but willing to have and to defend a strategic and creative POV.
Ability to conceptualize and utilize existing template and stock art media.
A strong eye for layout, typography, composition, and color.
An experienced multi-tasker that is not intimidated by the thought of juggling multiple projects and tasks at once in a fast-paced work environment while still maintaining a high level of creativity.
Must be a self-starter able to coordinate resources and responsibilities.
Excellent project management along with verbal and written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts.
High level of focus on departmental, individual and organizational KPIs, understanding the goals, tracking and hitting of KPIs
A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first.
Sense of ownership and pride, in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:Motion design is a bonus, but not a must.Experience in fast-paced environments.Passion and knowledge of hockey and sports.

Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
