Job Description : | The Graphic Designer supports the communication efforts of the school related to new student recruitment, fundraising, internal communications, brand awareness, and other activities that contribute to the positive growth and reputation of the institution.Typical work tasks would include graphic design(print & digital media)for print, the college website, email marketing, social media, etc. Individual will also be involved with print production, outsourcing to vendors when required, and managing project costs and timelines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:Determine the goals of each requested project, desired deliverables, and level of priorityDevelop creative solutions (design and/or strategies) to achieve each client’s goalsServe as the primary point of contact for each client.Meet and/or communicate with clients and associated stake holders as neededDevelop designs and solutions that are visually appealing, reinforce the school’s brand, and drive resultsSupport the success of marketing initiatives associated with events, athletics, social media, etc.Create and/or curate content for the website and assist with content managementHelp to manage student workers and outside vendors as assignedExpand the department’s video and photo libraries and maintain file structureAssist with various business items including estimates, invoices, budget reconciliation, office equipment, ordering of supplies, and record keepingREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Keen attention to details, organization and follow-throughKnowledge of marketing principles, use of typography and color, layout, and visual communication hierarchyUnderstanding of production requirements for print and digital environmentsA self-starter who is able to coordinate a large number of projects concurrently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExperience with design software, project management software, traditional and online marketing, web analytics tools, databases, and response-oriented writingProven ability to collaborate, build consensus and work effectively across departmentsAbility to organize and analyze data, think creatively, and develop sound recommendations to achieve strategic goalsAn understanding of basic branding and brand managementExcellent written and oral communication skills.QUALIFICATIONS:1-5 years’ experience as a graphic designer with solid understanding of productionSubstantial design skills and proficiency using Apple operating systemsIntermediate knowledge of software programs Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or equivalentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in higher education marketingExperience with Content Management System (CMS)applications, preferably WordPressDesign experience within an advertising/creative department or agencyExperience taking photos for use on the website and in other marketing collateralJob Type: Full-timeSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:We are open to zoom interviews.Education:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Graphic design: 1 year (Required)Adobe Creative Suite: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
