Job Description : Dykema Gossett PLLC, a leading national law firm, is recruiting for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our Business Development and Marketing (BD&M) Team in our Detroit office. The Graphic Designer designs and produces business development and marketing materials as requested by BD&M managers, attorneys, and other firm personnel. Is responsible for brand consistency in print and digital media. Oversees the printing of materials outsourced to vendors and output agencies. Responsible for recording and editing photography and video. Responsible for maintaining graphic files and website content.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain firm branding standards in all media forms. Responsible for proper display of firm logo and related branding activity.
Design and produce marketing materials such as brochures, event materials, videos, ads, presentations, etc., for the purposes of promoting the firm.
Format, edit and color-correct photos and videos. Shoot raw video; record audio for podcasting. Post final to external channels (firm website, YouTube, Vimeo).
Manipulate bio photos as necessary to be consistent within template parameters. Maintain bio photo library and archive.
Assist attorneys and other firm personnel in the design/creation of presentation materials utilizing various desktop and word processing software including PowerPoint and InDesign.
Procure images using royalty-free stock image resources. Maintain image library for future use.
Responsible for archiving graphic files and maintenance of software. Troubleshoot hardware/software problems, reporting same to Director of Marketing Operations. Assist in the maintenance of marketing collateral inventory as well as supplies related to graphic design.
Work with vendors for the outsourced printing of marketing materials ensuring deadlines are met, the quality of the final product is adequate and budget is adhered to.
Develop, utilize, communicate processes of templates and specifications to facilitate consistency. Shares template information with BD&M team.
Research new design technology and introduce new tools to the Director of Marketing Operations and the BD&M Department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or related field preferred, or a comparable level of training such as that which may be acquired through additional work experience.
Three to five years related work experience required.
Expertise in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Deep understanding of graphic design, typography and color.
Working knowledge of content management and e-communication software (Hubspot, website CMS, Cvent).
Working knowledge of pre-press including file preparation, trapping, and color correction, as well as print buying, including print processes and paper stock selection.
Thorough understanding of branding and the associated elements to ensure brand consistency.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time with a positive, can-do attitude.
General technical knowledge to maintain print inventory, firm website assets and other files.
