Job Description:
Design and produce Marketing Department promotions, advertisements, direct mailers, trade show graphics, digital media graphics, training and education brochures/catalogs/projects, and other materials for the North American market. Support other departments with graphics services as needed.
Design brochures, ads, mailers, flyers, catalogs, manuals and forms for both print and digital distribution. Perform file production for designated media (print, web, projection, etc.).
Design large-format graphics (booths, posters, display) and prep files per vendors’ specifications.
Design graphics for digital media (emails, social, web) and optimize design and production for each channel.
Complete multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Take lead on certain projects.
Update/Revise existing files to meet current brand guidelines; edit for trademark and brand accuracy as needed.
Create template files for common file layouts, using paragraph and character style sheets, layers, etc.
Create editable digital forms in both Word and Acrobat.
Perform photo touch-ups, color correction, and outlining/masking on photo files as needed.
Communicate verbally and in writing with business managers, and translate business needs to print design.
Keep accurate written record of job progress in the job ticketing system and follow up with project managers regarding job status/progress.
Manage the online approval process for non-Marketing jobs.
Discuss concepts, ideas and colors with initiators of projects; present recommendations to project managers/Graphic Arts Manager.
Communicate with print vendors regarding quotes and checking job progress.
Collect and organize all files for print.
Follow and enforce company standards and brand guidelines for literature, booth graphics, and web.
Perform software maintenance/updates and keep abreast of new software functions.
File and track projects during and after completion.
Conduct back-ups of all art files on server and maintain accurate tracking of file revisions/versions.
Job Requirements:
Required: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, supplemented by two or more years of vocational, technical or college-level training in graphic design or related field
3+ years as a graphic artist/designer
Preferred: BA/BS degree in Graphic Design or related field.
Critical Skills:
Intermediate-level proficiency in the following software: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop.
Intermediate proficiency in the following software: Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word.
Basic proficiency in the following software: Adobe After Effects, Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Macintosh OS, network access, etc.
Extensive understanding of file production for offset printing, large-format graphics, digital file distribution, and online content.
Familiar with/understanding of social media best practices for visual design.
Ability to perform basic proofreading for accuracy and understand editorial guidelines.
Critical Experience:
Experience working in large corporate environment and adhering to strong brand guidelines
Must have a demonstrated ability to: Multi-task and meet deadlines, Provide creative input, conceptualize, and offer solutions.
Efficiently interact with editors, marketing managers, vendors and publishers.
Maintain strong attention to detail.
