Job Description : | Summary: The primary responsibility of the Graphic Designer position is to create original artwork for a variety of stakeholders at Hyland’s with the Manager of Design & Production. The majority of time will be creating innovative assets for Brand Teams’ marketing efforts, DTC (direct-to-consumer) activations, and assisting with maintaining and growing the packaging portfolio. The job requires close attention to details, awareness of design trends, and discretion in creative problem solving. To be successful, candidate must be dedicated to engaging creative and capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with enthusiasm and initiative.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Develop original print and digital assets to elevate the brand with strategic, creative storytellingAdapt design conventions for multiple platforms including print ads, events, in-store promotions, website, and social mediaEnsure consistency of the Hyland’s brand aesthetic and personality.Prepare innovative image assets for internal and external teamsSupport and collaborate with the Packaging Program Manager on packaging revisionsEnsure all original artwork meets brief requirements and will meet vendor specificationsResearch and compile assets for new concepts in partnership with DTC and Brand TeamsAttention to detail to ensure regulatory and legal complianceContinue to learn and hone skillsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned or as needed.Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree (B.A.) in related field or equivalent from a four-year university or technical school; 4 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities5+ years of design experience in print and digital collateral required, packaging experience preferredHigh-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Proficient in good practices for print and digital production to ensure files satisfy vendor specificationsFamiliar with FDA packaging and labeling regulations for Food, Drug or Supplements preferredExperience creating animated or short video assets preferredAbility to adapt and implement existing design conventions across a multitude of assetsStrong communication, conceptual thinking, typography skills, and design skillsDedicated to finding creative solutions to effectively communicate brand messagesDemonstrates openness to critique of work and an eagerness to learn (and sometimes teach)Enthusiastic attitude in a fast-paced team environmentAbility to juggle multiple projects for different stakeholders and stay organized with a high level of precision and attention to detailMust submit portfolio in PDF format or link to view for consideration.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
