Job Description :	JOB SUMMARY The Graphic Designer supports the public relations, marketing and branding programs that help MCH reach its fundraising and strategic goals. This individual is supervised by the Director of Public Relations and works closely with the Public Relations and Development staff, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and other areas of the agency. The Graphic Designer presents the MCH story in a way that is clear to understand and helps foster increased support for this ministry. This individual demonstrates creativity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks, in addition to being self-motivated and goal-oriented. The Graphic Designer must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency’s mission and core values. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a positive and professional relationship with MCH staff, youth and families. Work with the Director of Public Relations to plan content and produce layout for Sunshine magazine, annual report, brochures, advertisements and other marketing materials. Work with printing companies and other vendors to obtain quotes and complete the production process on projects in a timely manner. Develop graphics and assist with providing content for the MCH website, employee intranet and social media. Consistently review MCH digital and printed assets for opportunities and needs to update and refresh content. Serve as the primary contact and manager of MCH website. Take photographs of campus activities and events, as needed. Support special projects and events for the Alumni Association. Assist with special projects, publications and events for the agency. Work with the public relations team to maintain and update displays in the Visitors Center. Design specialty items, obtain quotes, and place orders as needed. Provide writing and editing support for publications and projects, as needed. WORKING CONDITIONS The Graphic Designer is a professional position. The compensation package for this position has considered the working conditions involved. There are, therefore, no additional provisions made for compensation of overtime. An automobile for in town and out of town travel is required. Mileage reimbursement is provided for use of personal automobile for approved business purposes. A cell phone is required, and a stipend is provided to offset the business use of the cell phone. EDUCATION The Graphic Designer must have at least an associate’s degree in graphic design or a closely-related field from an accredited college or university. TRAINING Training hours must be completed annually to comply with licensing and accreditation standards, as well as MCH policy. The employees supervisor may require additional training to meet specific job requirements or enhance professional growth. Completion of training requirements is mandatory for continued employment. OTHER The individual who will perform best in this position will be one who focuses on details and is able to lead others to work with accuracy and quality. The Graphic Designer must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Texas Drivers License, an excellent driving record that meets the standards set forth by the liability insurance company and Methodist Children’s Home, no criminal history and acceptable references.
