Location: Central Library 400 Civic Center, Tulsa, OK. 74103
Salary: $21.86/hr.
Status: Full Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
The Graphic Designer, under general supervision, uses various types of graphics software, technical and artistic skills to design and develop electronic graphics and illustrations for use in technical and marketing materials, publications, websites, multimedia presentations and other deliverables for the library system.
Key functions of this role include:
Work with the Creative Director and Public Relations Manager on maintaining the Library’s brand image to match the Library’s broader communication and marketing goals.
Plan, design and produce library artwork, including flyers, bookmarks, brochures, posters, advertisements, newsletters, logos, signage, digital signage, etc.
Use various production techniques and design software to accomplish tasks.
Manage the Public Relations print room, including ordering paper for all in-house print jobs; managing and operating the digital press, paper cutter, paper folder, laminating machine; scheduling service calls as needed and coordinating with local vendors for printing needs.
Contribute to the Canva team by building templates and revising design submissions as needed to be on brand.
Consult with members of library staff, sponsors, donors, and print vendors to define artistic requirements, clarify concepts and determine necessary scope and visual effect needed to achieve objectives.
Perform other creative or office duties as instructed and assigned.
Job qualifications for this position are as follows:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field required;
Five years or more of experience in graphic design required with a strong design portfolio;
Experience working with large organizational branding and marketing through print and electronic media is required;
Experience in developing printed materials, web design and social media and well as advanced graphic design experience, including developing of original and computer generated design elements;
Must be highly organized, creative and able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines with the ability to establish priorities and organize workload effectively and efficiently;
Ability to navigate and perform tasks on a variety of technical software;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Activity & Environmental Conditions
Requires occasional stooping or bending; occasional light lifting (up to 40 pounds) may be required; frequent use of office equipment as well as long periods of sitting, standing, or walking as needed
Work is typically conducted indoors with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions; may occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of video display terminals
Some in town travel as needed between library locations.
