Job Summary

Albany State University seeks an excellent and experienced graphic designer, who is passionate about creative design that is rooted in strategy, to join the University Marketing and Communications team. Candidates must be equally comfortable in navigating print and digital projects and able to strategically partner with key stakeholders to bring the ASU brand to life.

Responsibilities
The primary tasks and responsibilities of the senior graphic design position are to conceptualize and execute compelling, creative design solutions from concept to final publication or production that align with the University’s marketing strategies and client objectives.
This position requires higher-level executive and client interaction skills and involves working in a collaborative environment with other marketing & communications professionals, development specialists and top administrators.
A high level of production experience and proficiency in translating ideas and concepts into layouts and final art for print, digital, and interactive formats using Adobe’s Creative Suite software is necessary.
The senior graphic designer creates digital content for use across various platforms, including web properties, mobile web properties, HTML emails and social media.
The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and revisions while working within established schedules and deadlines, stay current with emerging technologies and tools and adhere to graphic standards, brand guidelines and best practices in higher education marketing and communications.
Verbal and written communication skills are Important.
A strong understanding of marketing strategies and branding and how to apply them visually is essential.
Supervision of full-time graphic designer, as well as contract services.
Perform related duties as assigned and/or required.
Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree with 3 to 5 years experience in graphic design.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of industry standard software, including In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Ability to work in team-based, collaborative settings as well as willingness to take initiative and work independently.

Proposed Salary

Salary range is from$36,000 to $40,000
