Throughout a variety of projects including product development (DIY craft & activity kits, stationery & lifestyle products), packaging design, illustration, layout, instructions and other design elements targeted to the tween girl consumer.Being flexible across categories is a value add to our organization. Projects will be built to be sold into a diverse retailer base across multiple departments such as but not limited to: Toys, Arts and Crafts, Stationery, School Supplies, Backpack, Lunch Kits and Luggage and Fashion Accessories. This is a full-time, in-house graphic design position. Candidates must have a passion for design, enjoy working in a team environment and love to seek out the latest trends.Responsibilities/Duties· Create original designs, illustrations, drawings, and/or renderings, for products, packaging, marketing materials and other creative assignments based on the individuals skill set.· Concept & ideate new & innovative product ideas with market research, support or trend direction.· Create layout & aesthetic on product packaging and explore different & innovative packaging.· Seek out trends and understand how to incorporate trend into revenue producing product.· Understand & learn the competitive market place, study products to help assist in new product development· Own & understand all aspects for a project (ideation, costing, product rendering, box art, instructions, etc)· Manage, communicate and follow-up on assignments, project details and timelines.· Properly set-up, create, edit, and organize project files.· Update packaging or product art to comply with latest FA standards and required labeling.· Report project status and issues.· Adherence to all company and department policies.· Adherence to advised safety practices and workspace maintenance.Minimum qualifications· BFA, BA, or degree in graphic design, illustration or related field.· 3+ years professional design experience.· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign. General skills in digital photography, rendering, illustration and Microsoft Office programs.· Versatile illustration style and ability to adapt style per assignment needed.· Strong creative skills that can be applied to innovative tween girl products.· Having an eye for fashion-forward trends, colors, patterns and photography while executing new innovative products is key· Experience with package design, layout and production artwork including proper file set-up and organization.· Ability to multi-task and meet project timelines.· Ability to communicate project status, keep track of project details and follow through on projects to meet company standards.· Ability to accept constructive criticism and offer solutions to projects or tasks· Willingness to learn and expand skill set as required for projects.· Ability to work independently to complete projects and problem solve, as well as work cooperatively on team projects.Job Type: Full-timePay: $40,000.00 – $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:If you are not vaccinated, we require that you wear a mask.
