Summary: Barr seeks a part-time graphic designer and technical illustrator to collaborate with creative leads and content creators, as well as engineers and scientists, to bring stories and concepts to life visually. This role will partner with other creative leads to set overall design strategy, vision, and direction for award-winning proposals, marketing collateral, web pages, presentations, and other communications. In this role with Barr, you’ll p rovide recommendations on how to design materials to effectively meet the company’s strategic goals, as well as support the alignment of Barr’s marketing materials with brand standards and design industry trends. In addition, you will contribute to team libraries for infographics, photography, collateral, templates, and communications. Your day-to-day work will center on development of: High-impact graphics to support the development of web pages, project reports, proposals, PowerPoint presentations, technical illustrations, diagrams, infographics, and industry award submittals Social media and other marketing collateral in static, print, and interactive formats Infographics that communicate concepts related to engineering and landscape architecture Illustrative and/or detailed interpretive signage that highlights the features and/or functionality of engineering/landscape architecture designs Best practices for an efficient post-production graphics pipeline/workflow Minimum qualifications: Three or more years of related experience Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications design, or related discipline Depth of experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs Expert proficiency in PowerPoint, including presentation development Strong digital-production knowledge that translates into ability to design for multiple platforms, select appropriate file formats, and archive and retrieve work Outstanding organizational and file-management skills Excellent communication and collaboration Ability to manage competing priorities effectively Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship Preferred qualifications: Experience developing designs and illustrations on complex, technical topics |
