GDIT is seeking a Graphics Designer/Illustrator to join our team in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – Center for Preparedness and Response (CPR)-Division of Emergency Operations (DEO) – Deployer Support Unit (DSU). You will have the opportunity to initially work 100% from home due to COVID-19 restrictions and later transition full time to the CDC Roybal Campus located in Atlanta, Georgia. The role in CDC/CPR/DEO/DSU is looking for a designer with 3 years experience and skilled in both graphic and web design to help support the many CDC staff who are called on to support the COVID Response, as well as other Emergency actions across the Agency. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and deploy CDC (deploy.cdc.gov) website for responders and make iterative improvements to the design. Develop and design visually engaging products that support the DSU portfolio of work, including reports, presentations, marketing campaigns, web content, email newsletters, and more. Apply style guides/branding, typography, and be able to translate complex concepts into a visual language utilizing design principles and best practices. Streamline ideas and concepts and translate into a visual language Work with stakeholder and partners to gather and distill content for various products Distill ideas and concepts into simple graphics Visual communication experience Organize complex information clearly and concisely Translate business requirements and stakeholder needs into visually engaging products Develop brand standards and adhere to CDC guidelines Work with the team in research and design for innovative technology solutions to support Emergency Responders in deployment Conduct requirements gathering, user interviews, concept development, and wire-framing Conduct user-centered and responsive design standards for DeployCDC Develop web utilization metrics using google analytics and other software QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills and Experience BS Computer Science and 3+ years experience Web content management—WordPress Content Management System (WCMS) Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator; as well as other Adobe products including Adobe Campaign and Analytics Publishing software is helpful—InDesign or MS Publisher Microsoft PowerPoint Light coding helpful, including html and CSS 508 compliance experience helpful This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8.
