Job Description : BASIC PURPOSE
Under minimal direction, supports marketing and communications efforts by assisting in the creation of design solutions that meet both brand standards and business objectives for PSTA.
Leads the design of digital and web assets, including web, e-mail and online applications, as well as supporting production of print collateral including brochures, poster and outdoor designs and oversees projects from concept development through production.
Leads the design of graphic materials for all media to be used to provide information to PSTA passengers and the public from concept development through production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participate in marketing production and planning meetings. Coordinate with various departments within PSTA with creative requests.
Maintain organized and up-to-date files for easy access of assets. Complete special projects and duties as assigned to assist the Marketing Manager and Director of Communications and Marketing
Design duties as outlined below, in addition to other duties as assigned by Marketing Manager and Director of Communications and Marketing.
Primary Duties
Lead creative development for PSTA marketing campaigns, ensuring brand compliance and delivery that meet goals, audience experience, technical constraints, and schedule.
Working under direction from Marketing Manager & a creative brief, set the creative vision for all deliverables within a campaign, keeping target audience behaviors and best practices for various communication channels in mind.
Serve as creative lead for PSTA’s website with keen knowledge of user experience best practices. This includes but is not limited to creating and revising web pages using CMS page builder tools, troubleshooting website problems in collaboration with IT team, documenting updates and web design processes.
Work with IT, Marketing Manager, and Digital Marketing Coordinator, and vendors to redesign, update and maintain PSTA’s website and full digital footprint. HTML and CSS knowledge a plus!
Design onboard bus advertising products for PSTA’s campaigns, including full exterior wraps, side panels, and interior cards.
Additional Duties
Assist with development of deliverables for PSTA service changes and passenger communications, including timetables, signage, system map, route maps, decals, interior bus cards, brochures, rack cards, ID cards, booklets and other items determined by operational and marketing needs.
Assist various departments within PSTA with forms, posters, and other documents.
Assist in the visual aspect of presentations for internal and external use including board meetings, public events, conferences and strategic partner meetings.
Work with third-party vendors, including marketing/advertising agency and print vendors, to ensure that all materials developed are within brand and quality standards. Coordinate with staff on price quote specs and information. Inspect proof copies and ensures color, and finished product are as expected.
Assist in process of ordering printed materials, including exporting print-ready files, reviewing digital and print proofs, negotiating prices, and working with vendors to advise on print materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a design related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: At least two years of experience in a graphic design role, such as a marketing agency, graphic design firm, or in-house marketing department, including at least 1 year of web design experience. Experience working with transit, government, and nonprofit brands preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: Graphic art and techniques, design concepts, computer generated layouts, fonts and leading, printing and production, desktop publishing, Art concepts such as corporate identity and branding, creative use of typography and power of color in design as it applies to visual communications. Understands Color Management Systems (i.e. Pantone) for use in design concepts. Understands Content Management Systems and Web design. Knowledge of implementation of marketing campaigns, event planning and management.
Skilled in: Adobe Creative Suite, website CMS (Umbraco, WordPress), Microsoft Office. Knowledge printing services and paper products, web design and updates, purchasing and buying products in a government role. Knowledge of the RFP process.
Abilities: Perform diverse duties and determines priorities; must freely accept and solicit input, feedback and ideas from management and co-workers; prepare effective written communications; designs effective visual aids and graphic artwork; operates a variety of high-tech office equipment. Must be able to work in a variety of media and meet deadlines, sizing limits and budget restrictions. Work with outside vendors to ensure quality control, deadlines are met, and budgets maintained.
