Job Description : We are looking for a graphic designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media. What is the role of a graphic designer? The graphic designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos for the organization’s graphics needs including, but not limited to, social media, marketing, advertising, logos, and credentials.. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of websites, books, exhibitions, and more. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you. The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate graphics and artwork to support promotion of the San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) organization and its various events and departments, including Comic-Con, WonderCon, the Comic-Con Museum, website, marketing collateral, select pitches, and promotional documentsCollaborate with Comm/Strat team in creating graphics for various usage including, but not limited to, signage, publications design, website graphic design support, merchandise, logos, infographics, and web bannersCollaborate on the creation of credentials needed for SDCC and its various events and departmentsCoordinate the production of in-house credentials used during events and throughout the year, including sourcing and ordering credentials as neededManage and track different types of credentials created from year to year to create credential overview documentCoordinate sales of advertising in SDCC’s publications including the WonderCon Program Book, and the Comic-Con Souvenir Book and Events GuideContribute to the design and production of SDCC’s publicationsWork with SDCC departments to create departmental documents including, but not limited to, the Exhibitor Newswire, Special Access Credentials Guide, Studio Information Packet, Volunteer Guide, etc.Point of contact for outside printers and other vendors in the production of collateralOther duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum two-year degree in Graphic Design or minimum four years of practical work experience in the field of Graphic DesignMust be proficient with expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite with specific expertise in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesignMust be proficient with expert knowledge of the fundamentals of page layout, typography, and design principlesExperience in designing PowerPoint and/or other presentation programs, infographics, web banners, brochures, rate card information, and other promotional materialsMust show attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multitask, contribute in a team environment, and the ability to work alone and be self-motivated as the situation requiresWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointPossess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountabilityStrong communication skills, both oral and written; ability to speak effectively and persuasively to groups and individualsWorking conditionsProfessional office environmentRoutinely uses standard office equipmentStandard office schedule (Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm), but flexible availability is required, based on organizational needsMust be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededBe able to travel occasionally as neededPhysical requirementsFrequent sitting, walking, and standing for long periodsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to lift and bend, occasionally may be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds with assistance as neededJob Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: From $24.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityExperience:Graphic Design: 2 years (Preferred)Adobe Creative Suite: 1 year (Preferred)Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
