Job Description : We are hiring a Hotel Graphic Designer to coordinate, illustrate and promote our sales and services of the hotel as well as our popular restaurant outlets Spruzzo and Proper Grit.
This position designs and produces marketing material including but not limited to advertisements, collateral, signage, flash pieces, electronic brochures and presentations to drive hotel revenues in both Rooms, Events and our F&B outlets. Reporting directly to the Hotel Marketing Manager, the Hotel Graphic Designer provides visual elements that are consistent with The Ben brand as well as Autograph Collection Hotels.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate understands the customers of the hospitality segment. What customers see and how they react and make buying decisions. This candidate should be a multi-tasker that has ability to stay organized and focus when presented with multiple projects. The ideal candidate creates timelines for projects and delivers. You should be open to suggestions and even possible critiques as the final outcome is created. Your eye for detail and experience in systems such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel or InDesign software to allow you to produce quality and professional work. Must be willing to be 100% a team player (and have FUN and celebrate!). This role resides within the Sales & Marketing Department but works closely with Food & Beverage as well providing you multiple areas of impact to the hotels revenue growth and local marketing outreach.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Creates visual concepts and designs to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate customers for both the hotel and the restaurant outlets.
Works directly with leaders in both departments of Sales, Catering & Events and Food & Beverage to provide consistency and professional customer facing designs.
Must be proficient in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Indesign (or similar programs such as Corel )
Adheres to established procedures for creating, submitting and uploading design files and adherence to established brand guidelines. Maintains strict filing procedures for image and/or file resources.
Under the direction of the Hotel Marketing Manager, manages the look and feel, concept, visual development and final execution of all design directions.
Maintains strict filing procedures for images by creating a digital library of projects for repeat use and collection of sample library on hotel’s shared drive.
Demonstrate excellent time management, self-motivation, and organizationally savvy with a keen focus on details. Associate must be able to prioritize projects and meet deadlines required by leadership.
Prepared for and participate in all necessary internal meetings, conference calls, reporting, planning, and other communications required for this position.
Required to provide online task list with noted timelines, project updates and completion dates and be able to provide leaders direction on required turn-around on time sensitive projects.
Must be capable of being able to convert designs to formats needed for digital advertising, social media channel uploads and printing per vendor specifications.
Gain knowledge of hotel’s food and beverage products, pricing and presentation, and learn about the hotel’s function space, audio visual, guest rooms and any other details related hotel attributes to ensure that design work created meets the parameters of the hotel facility and the offerings provided.
Most tasks performed by this role are conducted independently and with minimal direct supervision. Associate will be provided clear direction from supervisors in regards to project purpose, timeframe and overall final expectations. The Hotel Graphic Designer will take guidance provided by leadership and be prepared to return with samples that align with the given direction.
