|Job Description :||We are looking for a Packaging Designer to build innovative brand experiences and support the ongoing evolution of the McGee & Co. brand. We’re looking for a highly creative, self-starter and detail-oriented designer with solid design and typography skills. We want someone who’s eager to take on challenges, introduce fresh ideas, and implement new approaches, grow, test and learn.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with the marketing graphic design team and partnering teams to create on-brand, innovative and thoughtful packaging designs. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of company strategy and goals to ensure all output aligns and keeps the brand moving forward while providing an optimal customer experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s ready to take full responsibility for their projects both creatively and operationally (with partnering teams.)

Work closely and report to the Senior Graphic Designer, and be responsible for concepting and executing creative packaging design
Create packaging concepts and mockups with a fresh visual approach that are mindful of customer experience
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee packaging development from concept through execution
Maintain and enforce packaging design guidelines (typography, materials, color stories) for general product categories and continue to update and refine as we grow
Maintain packaging standards and help evolve visual systems as we continue to grow into new markets, partnerships, legal requirements, etc.
Ongoing creative exploration and development as we expand our product family
Facilitate communication with the Sr. Director of Product to organize project parameters, timelines and priorities.
2-3 years of professional design experience in packaging design and/or graphic design
Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree within appropriate discipline such as Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, Package Design, Advertising, Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
Strong understanding of design fundamentals, such as typography, layout, color theory, design aesthetic.
Strong understanding of the packaging industry and process (e.g., dielines, UPCs, materials, finishes)
High attention to detail with effective prioritization skills
Ability to embrace curiosity and creativity, and can champion ideas with confidence
Eager to take on new challenges, introduce and implement new approaches and ideas, grow, test and learn
Proactive and effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
You are customer focused – always looking to see a challenge through the eyes of our customers
A proactive and collaborative approach; you love working with people and people love working with you
Must have samples of packaging design work
