Job Description :	The Niagara Gazette is currently seeking applicants for a hybrid page designer/prepress technician position to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in design at a newspaper, and understand the fast-paced, newsroom environment. Experience with InDesign and Photoshop is a must. The applicant is a person with superb visual and technical skills who can bring visual vibrancy to our news pages and digital platforms. This candidate will oversee nightly production of pages and ensure proper workflow.The ideal candidate should have:A strong sense of how design influences readers’ ability to understand a story.A compelling design portfolio.A background that demonstrates the ability to recognize and advocate for excellent photography and graphics, and generate ideas for alternate story forms.Proficient in print and digital content management tools, InDesign and Photoshop, preferred.Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or graphics design but not a must.Availability to work evenings 4pm-12am, Monday – FridayCandidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
