Production Artist/Designer supporting FDS – Facebook Design Systems
TOP MUST HAVES:Have strong production design experienceUnderstand design systems, specifically:
o relationship between design decisions and impact at a systems-level scale
o typography, spacing and color as they relate to information hierarchies
Have enough technical acumen to pick up a prototyping tool
Hard Skills:3-5 years’ relevant design experienceProficient with SketchExperienced with DropboxProcient with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)Procient with Microsoft OceFamiliar with iOS, Android and WWW designComfortable with HTML/CSS/Basic MarkupComfortable with Github
Soft Skills:Highly detail-orientedClosely follows directions and works within established guidelinesIndependent, but also communicates with and receives direction from cross functional teamsWorks quickly and efficiently, without sacrificing qualityComfortable being an advocate for a design systems team, and interested in nurturing partnerships with product teams
Familiar with design thinking at a systems level
Maintains positive attitude in the face of rapidly shifting priorities and occasional project ambiguity
Familiar and comfortable with contributing to design systems guidance and documentation overall
Responsibilities:Organize and maintain a large library of filesCreate, revise, and maintain individual component filesProvide detailed design specs for existing componentsExplore new variants for existing componentsUpdate and maintain design system Master SheetsCreate, organize, and assign tasks (passing design specs to engineers, updating Inter-faceKit, etc)Troubleshoot issues with design les (layer structure/organization)Provide help/guidance in relevant feedback groupsConduct extensive design audits (iOS/Android, screenshots/video recordings)Create Keynotes for workshops and presentationsAssist with other tasks
