Job Description : This undergraduate class is a required Scripps College of Communication, School of Visual Communication course for all Photojournalism and Information Graphics/Publication Design majors.

This course focuses on the theory, principles, and practices of picture editing with an emphasis on rhetoric and persuasion, from visually driven content origination to broadsheet and sequential presentation of images in both print and electronic formats.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates to be considered to teach this course for the School of Visual Communication must have at least a bachelor’s degree from the School of Visual Communication or have a similar degree from a four-year university in the field of photojournalism, communication design, graphic design, fine arts photography, or visual communication.

Candidates without a degree from Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication must provide a resume showing previous teaching experience and a list of at least two references that can vouch for teaching experience in the field of visual communication or have substantial experience in working within the field of visual communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of Visual Communication or have a similar advanced degree from a four-year university in the field of graphic design, journalism, fine arts, or visual communication.
