THE POSITION: Senior Production Designer

The Shade Store is looking for a Senior Production Designer who will support creative for print, email, web, social, digital, store signage and other ad hoc media projects. The Senior Production Designer will also help manage workflow and build final ready mechanicals, and helping manage the process, delivery and distribution for the creative team, as well as manage the standards and processes to support the team efficient workflow. Master knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch is a must.

Meticulous attention to detail, production comprehension, great design aesthetic and sensibility are crucial traits of this role. The Senior Production Designer must have a proactive approach; continuously seeking excellence in creative outputs and execution of tasks; great communication skills; and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate closely with creative & marketing teams
Execute templated designs for print collateral (post cards, print ads, etc.)
Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing
Manage full process on on-going requests such as business cards & product launch sheets
Information design such as installation instructions
Create vector graphics as needed for products and parts as needed
Crop, size, and export photography appropriately for different platforms
Manipulate designs in Sketch and export images for multiple usages
Self-manage timelines to ensure tasks are being completed on time
Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both creative & marketing teams and outside vendors as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

5+ years of graphic design / production experience
Excellent composition and visual design skills
A deep understanding of typography principles
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator, as well as Sketch
Pre-press, mechanical building and print production skills
Experience with digital production including executions of site banners, emails, etc.
Sharp attention to detail
Strong time management and troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Team player who is open to constructive feedback
Energetic, self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while handling a high volume of complex projects
