Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Design, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience in Design.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary User Experience (UX) and/or product teams (e.g., motion, interaction, UX research, engineering, content strategy) on technical implementation.
A portfolio of work with projects that demonstrate command of visual design, and highlights your direct contributions.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with early stage efforts, dealing with ambiguity, multitasking, and driving projects forward while meeting critical project deadlines.
Experience with designing, prototyping, and implementing expressive UI that adapts and/or moves.
Experience working on embedded OS/RTOS.
Experience in designing across a range of products/services, and successfully launching complex/sophisticated products to the market.
Knowledge of design systems and their contemporary trends/usage.
Solid communication/presentation skills, including ability to be proactive at addressing feedback, and represent/advocate for UX and users.

As a Senior Visual Designer on the Fitbit Device Software team, you will work with a team of visual, motion, and interaction designers across the US, Europe, and Asia to create design systems and promote cohesion across our devices and services, mobile apps, and IoT products. You will be a strategic partner with colleagues across Fitbit and Google Hardware and Design System teams, creating experiences that help people engage with their health and wellness in exceptional ways.
In this role, you will create engaging and delightful experiences on our devices and services products. You will weave space, typography, color, iconography, and texture together to help people successfully navigate our products.

Responsibilities
Define and lead visual design reviews, contributing to and advocating for visual design standards and language across Fitbit experiences while focusing on devices. Foster user-centric design culture, values, and principles within the group and to the broader organization to elevate craft.
Translate Fitbit’s brand, voice, and tone into engaging UI experiences.
Flex between leading projects and being a direct contributor—delivering from concept to completion. Collaborate with Visual Design peers, UX, Research, and Engineers throughout the entire product development cycle to solve complex problems that improve interaction, visual design, and delight for our users.
Create documentation of usage from accessibility to design specifications in partnership with internal and external agencies. Work with and guide vendors, and build compelling narratives for stakeholder reviews.
Screen design for smartwatches and trackers, and create editorial and instructional icons and illustrations.
