Visual Designers at Amplify Science build beautiful and meaningful experiences that delight our young learners and their teachers, inside and outside of the classroom. As a member of Amplify’s design group you will partner with a diverse cross-functional product team of designers, product owners, developers, and curriculum experts to extend and improve Amplify’s digital curriculum. This is a contract role expected to run through Dec, 2022 Responsibilities of the Sr. Visual Designer: Build layouts and develop the visual hierarchy for student and teacher print materials Help develop a system that connects print to a range of digital materials to aid in teacher orchestration Collaborate closely with the Design and Product team to define features and contribute to the direction of the product Consider competitor materials, user research and apply findings to create initial designs and rapid prototypes for iterative user testing with teachers and students Conceive, plan, and produce brand assets in a range of media Articulate concepts and creative solutions visually and verbally Refine deliverables by acquiring feedback from partners and designers Coordinate visual asset requirements and production within the greater design team Efficiently execute at high volume from start to finish in a fast-paced environment. Basic Qualifications of the Sr. Visual Designer: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 3+ years related experience in print and digital design Proven expertise in graphic design, layout and typography Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) Comfortable with collaborative discussion, listening closely and providing honest, thoughtful feedback to colleagues Expertise with Adobe CC and the Google Suite Comfortable with short development cycles and flexible with shifting priorities Capable of working on simultaneous projects to meet tight deadlines Comfortable working across different design mediums Able to collaborate with a team as well as take initiative and work independently Fluent in concept development starting with hand drawing of ideas Preferred Qualifications of the Sr. Visual Designer : Experience with visual design in education technology or a related field Enthusiasm for contributing to the landscape of literacy education Experience with large scale print projects Experience with creating icon systems We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
