Job Description : | Job Requisition ID # 22WD57211 Do you want to help build better cities? As a Visual Experience Designer working in our Unified Design team, you will be part of our Spacemaker product team and your role will be to discover how we can support a completely new creative process for architects and developers. This means translating complex user needs into clear design concepts, creating smooth user workflows, and producing high-fidelity visuals for product features — all while collaborating closely with our engineers to ensure a high-quality implementation. You will play an essential role in creating a magical product together with the rest of the team. Spacemaker is a truly unique product, and much of what we design, and build must be invented from scratch. As a Visual Experience Designer, you will need to work closely both with other designers and disciplines, be enthusiastic about pushing boundaries, and a have strong desire for designing simple and intuitive user experiences in a fast-paced, complex environment. This role may be remote or hybrid and based in Eastern USA or Canada. Responsibilities Designing a polished product experience through flows, interactions and beautiful, functional user interfaces for a product aiming to help build sustainable and better cities to live in Tackling visualization challenges in information dense interfaces and providing focus and visual clarity to information hierarchy when there is a lot going on. Contribute to evolving and growing our design language, design systems and component libraries, whilst maintaining a consistent visual aesthetic Collaborate and develop design concepts closely with both local and global product teams consisting of designers, software engineers, architects, data scientists, etc. Design and evaluate alternative solutions to choose the best approach to solve user needs, while also considering technical constraints and the anticipated value to customers Follow the implementation from a design standpoint and assure that the implemented design has the highest standard of quality. Contribute to our overall strategy and decision-making about product direction Closely follow the product journey and achieve deep insight and ownership of the product Meet and collaborate with users and industry experts to validate conceptual designs Qualifications 2+ years of relevant work experience in visual design with good understanding of UX principals Strong conceptual and visual design skills with an ability to translate ideas and insights into product features that ship quickly and with high quality A solid understanding of designing intuitive product functionality, user interfaces, and navigation. Ability to deliver production-ready UI and visual designs, with solid experience in using standard digital design tools (we use Figma) Great at handling complexity, and reducing complex problems down to valuable and efficient solutions for end users Excellent communication and storytelling skills, and an ability to effectively convey conceptual design work both within and outside of your product team Ability to work autonomously and in a cross functional team Design portfolio to accompany resume Preferred qualifications Strong interaction design and systems thinking skills Experience working at an enterprise software company that is building SaaS products Experience with agile work processes Interest in architecture and urban design About Spacemaker Spacemaker sits at the intersection of machine learning and urban planning/architecture (see our website: https://spacemaker.ai/ and blog: https://blog.spacemaker.ai/).
