Outstanding hospitality from the folks at the Nome Visitor Center! Sure wish I had allotted more time for my visit in October 2021. Leon is such a wealth of information, Drew is so welcoming, and everyone I met in Nome was so kind - from the employees at Bering Sea Bar & Grill, to the Bering Sea Tea & Coffee Shop, the guy dredging on the beach and especially George, who drove me all around until we found the musk ox. So glad I included Nome in my 10 day trip to Alaska.

You'll probably come here for the free Wi-Fi, coffee and clean bathroom, but you'll stay for the information and fun conversation.

Wonderful place with lovely folks who are excited to share their knowledge. Make sure to pick up an I <3 Nome button and a copy of the local newspaper, the Nome Nugget!

Highly recommend stopping in if you’re visiting Nome. Leon provides a wealth of information about the town, it’s history and the area. He’s also a wonderful and kind person and we enjoyed our chat with him.

Extra friendly and helpful, staff came out on the porch to chat and make sure my visit to Nome was going well. Gave me great advice and went above and beyond to extend hospitality and welcome. Would that all visitor centers were so warm, cordial and courteous! They made me feel like I was a neighbor and a friend, not just a wayward traveller in a remote land.

Although very small with limited print information, the center is a wonderfully welcoming place. Leon Boardway is incredibly helpful, kind, and a real ambassador for Nome.
