Great historical sightseeing adventure. Several buildings to explore. There is a small cafe upstairs in the Roadhouse. A barn, a sod-roofed cabin, some outbuildings, and a lovely walk by the river. When we were there, they had a pig and some chickens on the property (all in pens). Just a great way to see how people survived in Alaska at the turn of the century.

In not a distant past people traveling into Interior Alaska (Fairbanks) had to take a ferry barge across the river to continue their journey. The people here at this station had much to do with shaping the area to what it is today. The history here is well preserved.

Roadhouse has a museum that is supposed to be open right now, per the posted hours. Don't pay the day use fee before you verify that the facility is open .
