Today I went in and the receptionist was very rude. No goodmorning just really snappy. When she seen she upset me she tried to say she wasn’t trying to be rude, she was very rude indeed. It was the African American lady with a colorful dress and a stiff bob curled under. Career center of Tuscaloosa please coach your reception staff. Thank you !

I was sent to this place through the alabama unemployment program. I can honestly say I didn't expect to take much away from my experience here... boy was I wrong. I learned so much and I have much more confidence in my ability to acquire employment quickly and for a great job. The gentleman that helped me build a resume was absolutely awesome at his job and couldn't have been more helpful nor more polite. I'm very glad to see our tax dollars are being used for something so great.

If you need to print, fax or copy something for free then great. If you really want a job, then don’t waste your time going there. No one there is passionate about helping others find employment. They never tell you about new employment opportunities or job fairs that they know about unless you’ve heard something about it and mention it yourself. Most of the time when you ask questions though, they don’t have the answers. Also, every time I go the employees are on their phones or engaging in other rude, disruptive behaviors. I recommend just following their page on Facebook to keep up with new local career opportunities. Going to the actual center would be a waste of time and energy. UPDATE: June 2019 I’m not sure what’s responsible for the change, but this place is completely different now! The employees still aren’t knowledgeable of everything the center/State of Alabama offers, and you may get the runaround. But at least there isn’t any more disruptive/rude behavior. They also seem more passionate about helping people find employment. 2 Stars—->4 Stars

I called the Tuscaloosa Career Center because I could not get through on the inquiry line for the unemployment center. Someone where I work told me that he talked to someone at the TCC that helped him straighten out his unemployment issue. He gave me a phone number and an extension to call. I called and the woman that I spoke with told me that she would have someone call me back to help. No one called. After a couple of days, I am running out of time by now to file my weekly certification and I still cannot get through on the phone number for unemployment, I call the career center in Tuscaloosa again. I spoke to the same woman that I had talked to previously, explained my problem in detail, and she assured me that either someone else or she herself, would call me back that afternoon. Needless to say, even though I kept my phone in my hand, no one ever called back. Not only are these people useless, supposedly they are still working while alot of us are not, they have no concern for anyone's issues and will lie to you shamelessly. Total waste of time and taxpayer dollars! The next day I drove to Alabaster to the Career Center there and the people were so nice. They went the extra mile in trying to help me clear up my issue. Forget Tuscaloosa, go to Alabaster, they will treat you alot better.

I’m trying to get through and the operator keeps saying this organization is closed. It’s asking for a personal extension and I haven’t been able to reach an agent 🥴 frustrating …

I've gotten no help from this office or the head of the department since the entire Covid19 pandemic and I'm still without compensation. The phone system is a joke and now they don't even take your number to call you back.
