Job Description
Graphic Design Specialist Job Title: Graphic Design Specialist Reports To: Director for Communications Classification: Professional Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Days: 230 Salary: See Compensation Plan for Administrative/Professional Pay Plan, Pay Grade 101 Contract: None Date Revised: 2/28/2022 Primary Purpose: Responsible for producing highly impactful graphics for both print and digital platforms that directly support Spring Branch ISD’s brand identity and strategic communications and marketing priorities. Qualifications/Skills: Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s or two-year degree, or technical certificate in a related field preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in graphic arts or related field.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Superior design skills, understanding of design principles and ability to provide creative visual solutions
Thorough understanding of the print and digital media production process
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Experience in timeline-based editing (After Effects and Premiere) preferred
Excellent communication and research skills
Excellent visual storyteller
Ability to translate complex ideas into design solutions that communicate meaning and context
Ability to work collaboratively within a communications and design team environment and analyze creative feedback
Ability to meet assigned deadlines while effectively prioritizing assigned projects
Proven multi-tasker and problem solver
Detail-oriented
Design portfolio required for consideration.
Experience:
Three (3) plus years of experience in creating designs in print, static web and/or motion graphics Major Duties and
Responsibilities: Program Management:
Produce original artwork and designs aligned to the district brand.
Incorporate branded campaign elements throughout multiple executions, including a variety of creative projects such as advertisements, social media, brochures, brand identity, packaging, special presentations, promotional displays and event signage.
Find graphical solutions while working through design challenges, effects, and techniques.
Manage print requests and work with vendors to ensure successful production and delivery workflows.
Retouch and edit high resolution imagery.
Follow established brand guidelines; enforce a cohesive brand across all publication channels.
Develop branded templates.
Collaborate to maintain and provide training on district brand guidelines.
Research and stay current regarding design trends, innovative methods and techniques, etc.
Manage large file deliveries, packaging and exporting media with an organized workflow environment; maintain/manage digital assets.
Maintain archive of digital and publication assets.
Work collaboratively to develop, analyze and make data-driven recommendations to inform social and web strategy and production.
Experience using a project management system a plus Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory
