Random House is seeking a Senior Marketing Designer to join the Random House Creative & Ad Operations Department. Reporting into the Director of Creative Operations, and working closely with the Director of Marketing, this position requires strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work on a variety of projects in a deadline driven environment. As a Senior Designer, you will create advertising and promotional assets promoting books in the Harmony and Rodale lifestyle imprints, including Goop Press and the Well Enough brand. You’ll also collaborate with the marketing and publicity departments. What you’ll do: Create designed digital assets including display ads and email creative, print advertising, social media assets, promotional materials, and in-store displays Develop and create video trailers and animated book covers Work on a variety of health and wellness book titles. Work closely with Creative Director to refine designs, incorporate feedback, and route work to internal departments Communicate across varying departments on the progress of all projects where relevant Manage multiple projects of varying complexity from inception to close Stay up-to-date on current best practices and trends in design and digital marketing Utilize internal programs, such as Workfront, to track progress and help team members where necessary on projects requiring additional support What we’d like to see from you: Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, and the interest and ability to learn new systems and applications Intermediate knowledge of animation and video editing (Adobe After Effects and Premiere) A passion for design and typography as demonstrated by a great portfolio Excellent graphic design skills Experience with preparing files for print: digital and offset Ability to demonstrate proactive communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team when needed A goal-oriented team player who can cultivate productive working relationships across multiple departments Proficiency in creative problem solving, decision making and time management Proficiency with using social media platforms as a marketing tool Full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits program.
