This role will help to define and design the visual experience across all aspects of our best in class education product, with a focus on leading the design of innovative features and updates to the Educator experience. Occasionally, support work is needed on Student facing experiences, and some contribution on projects involving branding, marketing, and print materials.What This Role Will Do: Work closely with Creative and UX Directors, Product Managers and Developers to create necessary design deliverables in an agile and collaborative environmentDevelop deep understanding of the business, design and user needs, while delivering on company missionCreate original, visually engaging interfaces that are functional and intuitive, as well as transform established wireframes into compelling visual experiencesCreate a variety of assets including custom illustrations, templates and other visual elements with adherence to established quality and brand design standardsIntegrate team feedback effectively by knowing when to push the details and when to prioritize speedPerform detailed Visual QA in preparation for feature launchesHelp maintain, expand, and advocate usage of our design system and style guidesContribute user centered thinking to help solve design challengesExecute occasional user testing on in-progress designs and apply learnings to create necessary improvementsManage and execute multiple projects simultaneouslyIdentify and deliver continuous improvements to internal process and systemsStay current on best practice and advances in visual design and product design fieldsWhat You’ll Bring To The Role: Portfolio demonstrating exceptional quality and experience in product designSolid understanding of the digital product design process and its limitationsFluency with best practices in UI designAbility to sell design concepts with adherence to business, user and company goalsProfessional level knowledge of current design software such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, Adobe CC, ZeplinExperience with responsive design and designing for tablet & mobileGeneral tech savviness with understanding of coding and development processStrong work ethic with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentAbility to own and run projects from concept to completion with little supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsLight prototyping skills in program of your choicePassion for educational technology and mathA plus if you have experience in designing for childrenA commitment to Zearn’s mission of providing an exceptional education to all childrenA desire to join an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment at a high-growth organizationThe willingness to comply with Zearn’s vaccination (subject to legally valid exemptions) and Personal Protective Equipment policiesLocation: This role is remote, but you may be asked to travel to our New York City office periodically for team building when it reopens.Compensation & Benefits: We offer a competitive benefits package, including comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 401K matching, parental leave, and a generous PTO policy.
